Midi Memory debuts ‘Sensory Overload’ LP
Midi Memory released their debut full-length ‘Sensory Overload‘. Matt Messore of Cathedral Bells started this side-project early 2021. Collaborations involve the amazing talents of CD Ghost, COOL HEAT, and Doorbells. The album was released via Spirit Goth (it will an installment of the Cassette Club).
I (Kevin Flick) worked with Matt Messore on this album for several months through Puddlegum.Studio, and I was always impressed with Matt’s creativity and his ear for what the songs needed. He wrote, produced, and performed the tracks, and I mixed and mastered them (involving him in every mix iteration). It was an honor and great pleasure to be part of this.
Processions release ‘Acquiesce’ Single
Processions worked with Puddlegum Studio on their new single ‘Acquiesce‘, from their forthcoming EP. BIRTHDIY released the single, and Kevin Flick is mixing and mastering the EP. This is the first single since their debut EP, ‘Blush‘, which came out on Z-Tapes in 2019. New Midi Memory single featuring CD Ghost
I’m really proud of this one. Midi Memory released a single called ‘Gone‘. It features CD Ghost on synths, an amazing band you should be aware of. Matt Messore and CD Ghost performed all of the instrumentation, and I mixed and mastered the song. Spirit Goth released the track on October 29, 2021.
We are close to completing the Midi Memory album, and it will be out soon!
Cathedral Bells new single ‘I Don’t Care Anymore’
Cathedral Bells released a new single, ‘I Don’t Care Anymore’, through Spirit Goth Records‘ Single Series. It was an honor working with Matt Messore and his band on mixing (and mastering) this single. The band was wonderful to work with!
I have also been mixing Matt Messore’s Midi Memory project. So far, two Midi Memory singles have been released, with a third single on its way soon.
Two Singles Released Today: Midi Memory and SD Gloria
Two singles came out today that I had a hand in. Matt Messore’s Midi Memory released their second single, Anywhere, Anytime. This song has a synthwave and dream pop blend. Find our interview with Matt (Cathedral Bells) about the writing and mixing process on Puddlegum.Blog. I mixed and mastered this single, and Matt wrote, performed, and produced it.
Another single came out today that I mastered, an infectious dance track called Call Your Grandma by SD Gloria. The talented Mattieu Picard wrote and produced the song. Check it out!
Midi Memory: ‘Anwhere, Anytime’ out 8/20
Midi Memory will be releasing a new single, ‘Anywhere, Anytime’ on August 20th, via Spirit Goth. This is a single I mixed and mastered (Matt Messore wrote, performed, and produced the song), and we’re stoked for you to hear it!
Midi Memory – ‘No Return’ (Mixed and Mastered)
Midi Memory‘s debut single, No Return, was released today! This is a new project from Matt Messore of Cathedral Bells. It began earlier this year when Matt approached me about the concept for Midi Memory, asking me to mix and master the album. No Return came after two other songs had been completed.
Our process involves Matt sending me the tracks he records, mostly raw. I do a rough mix of the song, adding appropriate compression and EQ, doing basic placement of the tracks (using delay, reverb, panning). Matt provides feedback and edit requests; I then go further into editing and placement, adding basic mastering as well. We continue to bounce back and forth until we begin to feel that the song is close. From there I begin to master the track until we’re both satisfied.
Spirit Goth released this single on all digital platforms (July 9, 2021). I am cyborg and that’s ok created an amazing music video for the single, which we feel honored to have their support!

Welcome to Puddlegum.Studio
I’m mixing a number of projects, and cannot wait for you to hear them. The first single will be out July 9, 2021.
To clarify, Puddlegum.Studio doesn’t have a physical studio… yet. But I’m taking on projects to mix and master. If you want to record, we can talk about getting studio space.
